Delete your account
You can delete your [App Name] account at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data. [App Name] is operated by [Company Legal Name] Limited.
Option 1: in the app

You will be signed out on all devices straight away.

Send it from the email address linked to your account, or include the phone number linked to your account. To protect you, we will ask you to confirm the request (for example, with a code sent to that phone number or email). We complete email requests within [30] days.
What is deleted
- Your profile: nickname, avatar, phone number or email address, and password.
- Your friends list, friend requests, group memberships, blocklist and settings.
- Messages, images, videos, voice messages and files stored on our servers that belong to your account.
- Push notification tokens and device records.
When
- Your account is deactivated immediately and can no longer be found or messaged.
- Your data is permanently deleted from our live systems within [30] days, and from backups within a further [Backup Rotation Period, e.g. 35 days].
What we may keep
- Red packet ledger records, for [Ledger Retention Period, e.g. 7 years], to meet accounting, anti-fraud and legal obligations. These are kept with restricted access and are not shown to anyone else.
- Reports and moderation records about abuse, for [Moderation Retention Period, e.g. 2 years], or longer if needed for legal claims or law-enforcement requests.
- Data we must keep to comply with the law.
Messages you already sent to other people remain on their devices, and in group chats they may still appear (shown as from a deleted user). Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Before you delete: deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Red packet amounts shown in the app cannot be withdrawn in the app; please read the red packet terms and contact us first if you have questions about a balance.
